#11 Shomer Shabbat?

It's been awhile AGAIN! There are sooooo many things that keep me away from the computer these days, so now that I have a free moment to myself, let me try to pick up where I left off~

*This post is a continuation of "MY STORY, WALKING WITH YESHUA" to read these posts in order, simply click on the title.

After so many lessons learned in California, I think my husband and I looked at Oregon as if it was going to be a breeze, possibly a season of rest, it did start out that way!

The very first thing we wanted to do is look for a Messianic Congregation, where we could spend our Sabbath an make new relationships. We found a small congregation with a handful of families. We immidately started enjoying all of the activities~weekly dance lessons, Hebrew lessons, Bat Mitzvah class and helping with the details of a Purim carnival, Passover Seder's etc.... I would say the first few months were very blessed!

Things started to pop up, here and there, that I had never heard of or experienced before. LIKE WHAT? Well one was the phrase~ SHOMER SHABBAT(or Shomer Shabbos), huh? I had never heard this term before and I had absolutely NO idea what it meant.

So to break it down Scripture says:
Exd 31:16 'Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations [as] a perpetual covenant.

Lets look at these highlighted words:

The Hebrew word used here is:

Shall keep~ STRONGS# H8104 שמר shamar

The Definition is:

1) to keep, guard, observe, give heed

a) (Qal)

1) to keep, have charge of

2) to keep, guard, keep watch and ward, protect, save life

a) watch, watchman (participle)

Now this is a beautiful definition, right! I especially like guard and watchman :)

NOTE: In the following verse in Deuteronomy this word "asah" is used as "KEEP"~

Deuteronomy 5:15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and [that] YHVH(the LORD) thy El(God) brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore YHVH(the LORD) thy El(God) commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

All in all not to terribly hard to understand, right!

So why did I bring this up? Well because, at this time there were becoming some dividing lines made over these SHOMER SHABBAT rules.
~To buy a candy bar out of a vending machine or not?
To let the kids run or not?
To have a craft for the kids on Sabbath or not?
To set up chairs for service or not?
Can we go fishing or not?
Can we play video games, watch a movie, talk on the phone or not?
looking back I would say that this was the very small start, of the very big division to come.

I did not know at the time that there were some very STRICT RULES written in a book called the Talmud/Mishnah about how to KEEP the sabbath. What is the Talmud/Mishnah, this is what I was wondering?

Many will say it is the commentary to Torah, some will say it is the ORAL TORAH, I just call it what it is~ an addition to Torah!(to read what the Rabbi's rules are CLICK HERE Scroll down to Shamor: To Observe and read the list) OR CLICK HERE for a different source

Now, I should clarify, that I do agree with some of the things on the Rabbi's list, as long as they are based on Scripture~
LIKE: no kindling a fire (Exodus 35:3) or are no brainers
Like: don't tear down a building( I think would fall under the categories of work, don't you?)

BUT some tf the others on their list~
Like: no tying and untying(does this mean you have to wear slip on shoes on Shabbat?), or writing two letters or erasing two letters(Shabbat is when I do some of my best note taking!) , HUH??????????? Who makes this stuff up????

Anyway, my point is this, we need to know what Scripture says, study and pray about it out ourselves, and not rely on what others do or say. Why? Because I started to realize that everyone has an opinion, and the only one that I am interested in, Is THE FATHERS!

A friend of mine has Prov.3:5 as her signature on her e-mails, Cool Right!

When I looked it up, of course I was familiar with it, BUT as I read it "in context" I was again reminded of how good YHVH is, and how HIS word(HIS TORAH)is the path. By knowing HIS Torah~ WE come to know HIM, and Fear HIM. (when I think of all the years I quoted this verse but didn't really get it because I didn't really get HIM)

:) Take a little time to read this great verse, in its context, I think you'll be blessed by it!

Pro 3:1 My son, do not forget my Torah, And let your heart watch over my commands;

The Word~What Word?

Sorry I have been so quiet lately. I am still here, just a little busier than normal. I am always trying to keep my priorities straight, so what gets put aside is usually blogging.

These days we are staying busy with schooling, gardening, canning, sewing, crocheting, baking, visiting friends, of course the daily chores, and I just started working for an elderly lady once a week, she calls me her HELPER. So as you can see I am not purposely ignoring my blog just trying to find the time to post something of substance.

I just love the book of James, here is a little substance for today~(My words in blue)
Jas 1:21 Therefore put away all filthiness and overflow of evil, and receive with meekness the implanted Word,1 which is able to save your lives. (Footnote: 1See Mt. 13:4-23.)What WORD would James be talking about here? All my life I have been taught that Yeshua is THE LIVING WORD OF EL(God). Why? because HE lived out all that was prophesied about HIM, and HE kept Torah PERFECTLY.

There are those who will argue HE didn't keep it perfectly, "IF" HE didn't then HE could not Messiah(Matt. 5:17).

So, getting back to what WORD is James talking about? Since the New Testament was not yet written, he must be speaking of~that's right the Old Testament/Tanach/Torah AND most importantly Yeshua's example of walking it out.

Jas 1:22 And become doers of the Word, and not hearers only,1 deceiving yourselves.( Footnote: 1See Mt. 7:24-27, Lk. 6:46-49, Lk. 8:21, Rom. 2:13, Heb. 4:11, Rev. 22:14)That's right doers of THE WORD, remember what WORD he is talking about.

Jas 1:23 Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror,

Jas 1:24 for he looks at himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what he was like.

Jas 1:25 But he that looked into the perfect Torah, that of freedom,1 and continues in it, not becoming a hearer that forgets, but a doer of work, this one shall be blessed in his doing of the Torah. (Footnote: 1See 2:12.)Notice that the doer of Torah is BLESSED NOT SAVED BY IT.
Torah is NOT salvation, but it is YHVH Righteous Instructions. They point us towards Righteousness, and towards Messiah Yeshua living them out.

Jas 1:26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is worthless.

Jas 1:27 Clean and undefiled religion before the Elohim and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. How do we know how to keep ourselves unstained from the world? Ah yes, THE WORD/Torah(YHVH'S instructions) it is LIFE (Deut 30:19)!

Just to recap, James speaks of:
*Putting off filthiness and the overflow of evil(there is NOT a broad definition of evil either, there is only HIS definition, and it is found all through Scripture)
*Meekly receiving the implanted WORD(meekly, the opposite of arrogant)
*Being doers of the WORD(I guess we need to read the WORD in order to find out what we are to DO)
*We are blessed by the WORD/TORAH(Blessed, NEAT!)
*We need to bridle our tongues(absolutely)
*Visit orphans and widows(This is repeated all through scripture, how many of us do it?)
*AND keep ourselves unstained from the world(This is possible, otherwise HE would not have asked us to do it, but it means separating ourselves from many things)

Well,I don't know about you, but in these verses it sure sounds like There are some expectations to meet. Looks like we need to change from our evil and worldly ways.

I have never posted a Torah Portion before, but this week is one of my favorites, so I decided to share it. For those of you who don't have any idea what I am talking about "Portion" HUH?????? The Jewish Scriptures are divided into weekly readings. 1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Below is a TRADITIONAL Prayer recited on Yom Kippur, it is very thought provoking. I hope you take some time to read through it, and then let the Ruach HaKodesh bring about repentance/ Teshuvah(returning to YHVH) and then change.

"Al Chet"(AHL CHAYT) (In English~ for the sin)
Is a confession of sins (written using the first person plural)

For the sin which we have committed before You under duress or willingly.

And for the sin which we have committed before You by hard-heartedness.

For the sin which we have committed before You inadvertently.

And for the sin which we have committed before You with an utterance of the lips.

For the sin which we have committed before You with immorality.

And for the sin which we have committed before You openly or secretly.

Yom Teruah Sameach!(Happy Day of Trumpets)

Lev 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first [day] of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
Lev 23:25 Ye shall do no servile work [therein]: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto YHVH(the LORD).

~He Who Has An Ear~(Churches 4-7)

CHURCH #4

Rev 2:18 ¶ And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of El(God), who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet [are] like fine brass;

Rev 2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last [to be] more than the first.

Rev 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

Rev 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. (Wow, she didn't want to repent, do you know anyone like that?)

Rev 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. (except they repent!)

Rev 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. (He is looking to see what reins our hearts. Does HE? Or do we have stuff in the way?)

Rev 2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.(Looks to me, that we want to keep from doing these things)

Rev 2:25 But that which ye have [already] hold fast till I come.

Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

Rev 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

Rev 2:28 And I will give him the morning star.

Rev 2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

TO RECAP~

On the positive side:

This group has faith, is patient, is charitable and does good works, in fact MORE than at first. (How are we doing in these things that please The Father?)

On the negative side of things:

This church seems to be listening to a prophetess, A Jezabel, and are being led to do the very things Scripture tells us NOT to do, THEN refuses to Repent! (WOW?????? Take a few minutes to check out the links)

The Promise: To him that KEEPETH HIS WORK until the END~HE will give them Power over Nations. And will give them the morning star.

CHURCH #5

Rev 3:1 ¶ And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of El(God), and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

Rev 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Rev 3:4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Rev 3:6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

This letter, unlike the others, starts out negative:

This group, has a reputation of being ALIVE, BUT is DEAD! He tells them to be watchful and to strengthen what they have left, because they have NOT been found to be PERFECT in HIS sight. (What? PERFECT? Most people walk around as though YHVH has zero expectations, but this would say otherwise.)
Still in HIS MERCY~HE is urging them to REMEMBER, HOLD FAST and REPENT!!!)

The positive part of this letter is short and sweet:

He says there are FEW, THAT HAVE NOT DEFILED their garments, They are worthy to walk with HIM! (WOW!!!! This reminds me of the Scripture that says Mat 7:14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. I don't know about you but I was never told anything by my pastors about having to do(or not do) anything to be worthy, did I miss that sunday? BUT~ I guess that would come with HIM having expectations of us though, wouldn't it.

HIS promise that the overcomers will be clothed in white raiment. And that HE will not BLOT their names out of the book of Life.(This may come as a surprise to those of the belief, "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED" YES, YHVH has a BLOTTER! More confirmation HE has a blotter found in Exd 32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.)

CHURCH #6

Rev 3:7 ¶ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

Rev 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Rev 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Rev 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Rev 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my El(God), and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my El(God), and the name of the city of my El(God), [which is] new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my El(God): and [I will write upon him] my new name.

Rev 3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

TO RECAP~

This church has NO negative ONLY positive:

It says it has LITTLE STRENGTH, BUT KEEPS HIS WORD, and has NOT DENIED HIS NAME. (Is it possible that HIS NAME is important after all? Looks like it!)
HE tells them to HOLD FAST to what they are doing, so that NO MAN takes their crown. (You mean man might try to change my mind, or change what scripture says is required??? You betcha!)

Then the PROMISE~To the OVERCOMER, HE will make a pillar in the Temple, will write upon him the NAME of El, the name of Yerushalayim, and HIS new Name.

CHURCH #7

Rev 3:14 ¶ And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of El(God);

Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Rev 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

The negative:

This group is neither hot or cold they are LUKEWARM, in danger of being spued out of HIS mouth. (To my estimation this makes three groups of people. The Hot ones I would say are doing all that is right according to YHVH's WORD. The Cold group, more than likely, are the unsaved. And the bunch in between~ are the onse who have believed the lie, and think they can do anything they want to in this life, and still be saved. Sort of the Cake and eat it too group.)

This group says they are RICH in need of nothing, but are poor naked wretched and miserable.(Question: How can you not know you are miserable and naked? UNLESS, you have forgotten, that in all your wealth that you STILL NEED a savior. Who desires your Whole Heart, all your time, your everything!)

HE tells this group that because of HIS love for them HE desires that they be Zealous and Repent! Buy gold that is refined in the fire, white raiment. In other words CHANGE!!! Return to YHVH and do HIS WILL.

How amazing that HE gives us warning after warning, He Knocks, HE Waits, He desires to sup with us!

HIS Promise:

To those that choose to overcome sin (to repent) they sill have an opportunity to sit with HIM on HIS throne! (WOW!!!) YHVH IS SOOOOO GOOD!!!!

3 Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:

4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of YHVH(the LORD), unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of YHVH(the LORD).

5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

7 Peace be within thy walls, [and] prosperity within thy palaces.

8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace [be] within thee.

9 Because of the house of YHVH(the LORD) our El(God) I will seek thy good.

Just a little reminder about why I am posting the 7 churches portion of Scripture. Well, for one there is a blessing to those who read, and hear this book. Secondly I like to use these churches as a sort of spiritual check up. They very clearly show what YHVH is pleased with and what HE is not, even HATES. I hope you choose to be blessed and read along!( Rev 1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.)

I was just wondering, cuz they get brought up again in this post. They say(Bible Scholars) when something is repeated, it must be important!

Revelation 2:12 ¶ And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;

Rev 2:13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, [even] where Satan's seat [is]: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas [was] my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

Rev 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling-block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. (Below is a link or two about Balaam, a good read)

Rev 2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.(AGAIN with the Nicolatians!!)

This church did not deny HIS Name, Do you?(Do you think this verse is talking about the titles GOD, LORD, and JESUS??~ I don't think so!)

This church did not deny their faith, even though another was martyred among them. Do you think you would be ready to do this, if it came to it? (Mat 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.)

Looks like the doctrine af balaam is a BIG No~No!(Do you know what that doctrine is? helpful links below)

As you read along you might notice a pattern about these letters. Each church has something good going on in it as well as some things that they need to repent for. That is until you get to the church of Philadelphia, this church seems to be the exception to this pattern~ they've got "ALL GOOD" going on! (I always look forward to reading about this church)

As I said in my previous post~ I like to read and compare my walk with each church, I use them kinda like a measuring stick. I think by doing this I have to admit that I have some things I need to repent for and with the help of the Ruach HaKodesh need to change. (in other words-room for improvement in my walk with Yeshua). Listen to the Ruach Ha Kodesh(Holy Spirit) as you read and see what HE is saying to you!

Church #2

Rev 2:8 ¶ And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;( Messiah Yeshua is the First and the Last, was dead, but is alive!)

Rev 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and [I know] the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but [are] the synagogue of Satan.(Note: "HE KNOWS" this is repeated allot. This can either bring comfort or conviction. So even in poverty, this church is considered to be RICH! Why do you think that is? Because~they "know" and walk daily with the Messiah! This is a confounding thing to many people, who are never content, even with all their THINGS.~ Read below more about the synagog of satan.)

Rev 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast [some] of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.( Don't fear suffering, but be faithful unto death! Could you do this? Some pastors these days teach such a watered down message, we would think this could never happen to us, but what if it does? Something to think about.)

Rev 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

NOTE: I have heard different things when it comes to this people who "SAY" they are Jews, but are not.

The first thing I would like to do is~ to point out that the word "Jew" comes from the Hebrew word- "Yehudah" (i.e. "Judah) The word Yehuda comes from the Hebrew word lehodot, which means to thank.

To break it down:
The Hebrew word (odeh אודה) means To Thank, Praise or Praised ~ put together with~ YHVH (יהוה) or YAH =(Yehudah יהודה)".

So if a "true Jew" is someone who praises YHVH , then maybe there are those who "SAY" they praise YHVH, BUT don't really praise HIM at all, but serve another master.

My best definition of The “Synagogue of Satan” is a gathering of persons of like mind and spirit who are in opposition to the will of El(God). (DO you know what the WILL OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER IS? THIS IS VITAL! ! SEEK HIS WORD TO FIND IT, not your brother, friend or pastor. (the verse that come to mind: Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.)

How do you react to tribulation and poverty?

Are you a TRUE JEW? A Praiser of YHVH!

~He Who Has An Ear~

Shalom~
Did you know that there is a blessing to those who read the book of Revelation? Not only to the ones reading it, but for those who HEAR it being read also!

*Rev 1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.

I have read it many times, over the years there have been things that I didn't understand, BUT there have always been the letters to the churches starting in Rev. 2:1 through Rev.3:22 that are written in simple to understand English, easier for me to understand.

I have used these letters, over the years, as a guide to what "IS" and what "IS NOT" pleasing in YHVH's (The LORD's) sight. It has helped me tremendously in my walk, and I do feel blessed by it! I have directed many people to read Revelation for themselves, but the answer I usually get is that it is too hard to understand, so why bother! Well~ how about that blessing! Isn't that a good enough reason to read it?

So~ I have decided that I want to post the letters to the churches here on my blog. Please read and See if you can HEAR what the Ruach HaKodesh(Holy Spirit) is saying to YOU! And if you believe Scripture is true, you will be blessed for reading!

~Church #1~

Revelation 2
1Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

2I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

I had a few free moments this weekend to read a very moving testimony/ mini book. It was written by Boris Sorokovsky and the name of it is "A CALL TO THE CHURCHES IN AMERICA". It is for sure a WAKE UP call for all of us, a call to repentance and a call back to PRAYER AND FASTING!

For those who are walking close to YHVH daily , hopefully it will draw you even closer to HIM. For those who have wandered away(intentionally or accidentally), Or have gotten distracted, hopefully it will get your attention and turn you back to righteousness and into the loving arms of your savior.

I hate to say it, but I believe that a majority of today's churches have lowered Our Heavnly Fathers standards~ and~ Yes, HE has a standard! You have to read HIS word to find out what it is! (It's time to wake up)

This sort of WAKE UP/ BRIDE GET READY theme, has really been on my heart lately and I don't think it is a coincidence that I read this book this weekend. #10 Learning to Discern HIS Voice

Shalom, I know it's been a while since I have written anything in addition to "My Story", there is still so much to write about to get caught up to what YHVH is doing in my life today. Anyway~I am just going to start right where I left off ~ I hope that works out! To read earlier posts CLICK HERE.

Our family had been attending Beth Simcha(House of Joy) for about two or three years, all the while being discipled. We learned what it means to truly be grafted into Israel, and what our true identity is in Messiah. We experienced JOY and PEACE like never before in our walk, and the friends we made in the congregation became like family to us. I think we would have been very happy to stay at Beth Simcha forever.

For the first time in our married lives we felt we were being blessed financially. This was after my husband started turning down work on Saturdays, in order to keep the seventh day Sabbath Holy(set apart) as Scripture commands. He was soon given a long overdue raise that meant he actually was working less hours and making more money. YHVH was good to bless us for our simple heartfelt obedience to HIS word! What this meant to our family was that we were able to be YHVH's hands and feet for the first time after years of being on the receiving end of HIS abundant mercy.

My husband and I had always talked about wanting to move away from California(where we were both born and raised). With ALLOT of equity in our home, of course"we thought" now would be a great time! So we took a trip to visit his parents in Cottage Grove Oregon. On the way there we fell in love with a town 2 hours south of Cottage Grove, in Grants pass. We started looking at purchasing a garden nursery and home, and by the time we left we put an offer on a home with a contingency that our home must sell first.

We rushed home, put our house on the market and were confident it will sell quickly! The market was really good and our home was worth more than twice what we purchased it for. When it didn't sell right away we didn't catch on that maybe we had made our own plans an not asked YHVH if it was what HE wanted for us. Months went by, with no sale, and it was time to either re-sign another listing agreement or take the house off the market. We were just about to resign with another realtor, when some friends of ours said they felt very strongly that the Lord wanted us to sit and wait, not list, not move, just wait. So even though it seemed strange, and we did not have a peace about it, we waited! AND WAITED! It seemed like forever and ever. We were definitely not expecting what happened next~

While waiting~my Husband hurt his back really bad, on the job, and needed months of healing. During that time we started dipping into our savings to pay our bills. When he was finally able bodied and ready to go back to work, there was NO more WORK in his field in California any longer. The recession had started, and it was going fast and furious! We were losing equity daily at this point.

We had no choice but to completely go through our savings trying to keep up with everything. We did finally get behind in all of our bills, including our mortgage, and no one was willing to wait to be paid! Meanwhile my husband had been taking odd jobs just to try to keep our utilities turned on. That when the unexpected happened ~he sliced his hand completely open with a sharp chisel(barely missing a main artery in his wrist)! YET~AGAIN he was unable to work, what is going on???? At this point we were starting to question this "wait" word we received. Are all of these happenings, the Father saying now it's time to move??? Well, it looked as though if we didn't do something, we were going to be forced to move.

Again seeking HIS will be done, we decided to put a fleece before YHVH(a story of fleece Judges 6:37-40), ~still not knowing~ do we stay or do we go?????? One way or the other the reality was we were going to lose our house. The fleece had three very specific parts, and of course an end date. We continued to pray, actually asking our entire congregation to be praying with us. The two weeks were finally up, and NONE of the three very specific things pertaining to the fleece happened, so to us it was very clear we had our answer. We are to list our house and move to Oregon, so we did just that! At this point the equity that we had in the house was GONE, we had no choice but to list our house as a SHORT SALE(but at least it wasn't a foreclosure).

Interestingly enough, over the last few months my husband kept receiving letters saying he did not qualify for disability. One day, after listing our house for short sale, we received yet another letter stating this ALONG with FIVE CHECKS form their office. WHAT???? Is this a mistake??? How can they tell us we are ineligible and follow that up with five checks?? We were baffled, BUT the amount just happened to be the amount we were going to need to make a move to Oregon. Only we weren't going to be buying a home, we would be moving to Cottage grove and in with my in laws.

So what was all of this about? I NOW believe it was all for our good! You see, looking back it is still unclear what might have happened, had we not listened to our friends telling us to wait. Was the word from really from YHVH? I guess we'll never know, and it doesn't really matter, all that matters is the end result!

The world may say we lost everything, years of work, savings, good credit all down the tubes! But we feel we gained something that money can't buy! A new perspective! We realized that had we made a bunch of money on the sale of our house, "WE" would have moved where "WE" wanted to(Grants Pass), purchased a Nursery and "THOUGHT" to live out our days in Oregon, in happiness. But that wasn't YHVH's plan! AND we did after all pray HIS will be done!!!!

Next time my story will pick up in Oregon! We sure do learn allot there!

A 21st Century Betrothal Story, A Must See!

So what comes to mind when I say betrothal? Do you envision Ancient times? If so, what(or who) has made us think that this is a done away with concept? Or maybe you think that it is a Middle eastern thing?

Well, I hope you take the time to watch this beautiful real life betrothal story. Here's why~ If we are believers in Yeshua the Messiah, Scripture says that we are the bride. It also says we are to be preparing ourselves to be a pure and spotless one.

This video paints an amazing picture of the betrothal ceremony, and the wedding feast when Yeshua returns for us HIS spotless bride. This subject has been on my heart for a while now, it makes me ask myself what am I to be doing to prepare for HIS return? What does pure and spotless look like? Are we ready, or do we just think we are? I will be sharing very soon what HE is showing me on this topic, and the changes HE is making in me.

Well, I am back from my vacation/visit with my oldest son. He left last yom shi shi(day six=friday) and it was absolutely WONDERFUL spending time as a family again! We were able to do a little sight seeing, some swimming at the lake and some fishing. I started missing him two days before he even left :(

I am also back, and inspired to blog again~after a long dry spell! I really have had a strange few months, many trials! I am sure you could tell~my post started to change and become more and more infrequent.

I had a dear friend say these encouraging words to me recently, she said " Don't look at the water", in other word keep your eyes on Yeshua!(Mathew 14: 29, 30, 31 He said, "Come!" Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Yeshua. But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Yeshua stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?") When she said this it reminded me of this song "Walk On The Water"(video below).

I will say, I have experienced a refreshing of the Ruach Ha Kodesh (Holy Spirit), a renewing, HalleluYAH, during this past Shavuot(Feast of Weeks/Pentecost)! It's time to stop looking at the water, Amein!

So with that being said~I will slowly be working on changing some things on this blog. I want the things I post here to always have eternal worth, and to completely Glorify The Creator, more of HIM less of me!!!

It's been a while since I have posted anything but music videos. Did you notice? I think I am getting close to continuing "My Story, Walking with Yeshua". Allot has happened that I want to share, but I wanted to be careful, I think I needed it all to sink in, you know, lesson learned.

If there is anything you need to know about me, it is that I really try to chose my words very carefully. I have stuck many a foot in my mouth, believe me, but I think I have learned to be slower to speech, Praise YAH!! I really enjoy Yoseph Karduners music, and really love the words of this song!

NOTE: In the song you will hear the Hebrew word "Hashem"~ it translates to "The Name" in English. I went ahead and used The actual name~"YHVH"(and it means the ONE who exists). I did this because in English it sounds pretty silly to say The Name is King, The Name was King, The Name will be King forever and ever, On that day The Name will be One and His Name will be One.(just doesn't make sense)

With that being said most of us are familiar with the term "the Lord"(actually also translates to YHVH=The ONE who exists) we read it everyday in our Scriptures, and say it everyday in our prayers, but most do not know what they are replacing the actual name of our creator with a title/phrase that has no real meaning(actually bringing HIS name to nothing).

"Prayer for Japan"

His name is Zachary Bruno, he is a very talented teen composer whose heart was moved for the people suffering in Japan after the horrible earthquake and tsunami. He not only composed a song called "A Prayer for Japan", but he also wants to do something practical for those still living in the aftermath of this tragedy. "The Exodus"

Most people are familiar with the Story of the Exodus. But most people don't realize that we are to observe it as a "Memorial forever". That's right forever!
(My ISR e-sword, is not working so I have to use the King James Version below)

Exodus 12:14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to YHVH(the LORD) throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.

The word Memorial in Hebrew= h2146 זכרון zikrown 1) memorial, reminder, remembrance

The word Feast in Hebrew= h2282 חג chag 1) festival, feast, festival-gathering, pilgrim-feast

a) feast

b) festival sacrifice

The word Ordinance in Hebrew= h2708 חקה chuqqah 1) statute, ordinance, limit, enactment, something prescribed

a) statute

The word Forever in Hebrew=h5769 עולם `owlam 1) long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever, everlasting, evermore, perpetual, old, ancient, world a) ancient time, long time (of past) b) (of future)

1) for ever, always 2) continuous existence, perpetual 3) everlasting, indefinite or unending future, eternity

Why do you think we would do this forever? I think it is because YHVH doesn't want us to forget that HE is our Redeemer/Savior/ our Everything!

Isa 43:3 For I am YHVH(the LORD) your EL(God), The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.

Isa 43:11 I, even I, am YHVH(the LORD), And besides Me there is no savior.

Oh but how soon they forgot! Remember how soon after the children of Israel were saved they built that calf?

So if we belong to HIM, wouldn't all Scripture, from cover to cover, be for us too? The answer is ~YES! How did we miss this for so many years?

When my husband and I read about the Feasts for the first time and saw the words FOREVER, and realized who HE was talking to, we immediately realized that this is for us, but just never knew! So how could we go on as normal and ignore these Scriptures? The answer is~We couldn't! So why is it still important to keep a memorial of the Exodus? Because it's obvious when we stop telling our children and their children and so on "PEOPLE FORGET". Another really good reason~ is because~ HE said so!

So how does all of this work with Yeshua's Death, Burial and Resurrection? Well, Yeshua fulfilled the prophecy of HIS coming exactly as laid out in Scripture!~ But because we didn't know anything about the Feasts, we had no idea that these Feasts are all pictures of who THE MESSIAH would be~NOW WE SEE~Yeshua was and is the perfect, spotless sacrificed lamb, completely sinless(unleavened), and HE was the first fruits offering. At the EXACT moment Yeshua was being sacrificed for our sins, all of the lambs were being sacrificed in Jerusalem at the Temple by the Priests, all according to Scripture's instructions. He rose from the dead on the "Feast of First Fruits". This is something we had been missing all of our christian lives, was it lost or forgotten?
I pray you study the Scriptures and decide that it is important for you to remember the Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread and First Fruits~as a believer, this year too. A great place to start is by reading the Exodus story to your family (to start reading in Exodus 1~ CLICK HERE), then pray about what to do next. Also read of Yeshua's meal with HIS disciples and all the wonderful things HE said to them~in John 12-18 read further about his death and resurrection. Of course there are many more Psalm and things in the Prophets too, and of course the accounts of His life in Mathew, Mark and Luke.*To read a list of these prophecies CLICK HERE
(NOTE: It is always a good idea when reading each of the Scripture references above that you take the time to read each one in context)

So how do people Remember or Memorialize the Exodus today? Most people will hold a Seder Meal(Seder actually mean "order") Usually the story is read from a book called a Hagadah(this word means "telling" or "narration") It is a way of telling of the order of events to our children and their children SO THEY DON'T FORGET(I might add this has been done for thousands of years). This is a time for celebration, a time to remember all of the Mighty Miracles YHVH preformed to redeem HIS people out of Egypt. And for those of us who now see Yeshua's fulfillment of this feast, it is a time to Celebrate our Redemption from our slavery to death/sin. We eat unleavened bread for 7 days to remind us to get the sin out of our lives, also to remember Yeshua's sinless sacrifice.

*This year Passover falls on the evening of April 18 followed by the feast of unleavened bread that goes from the 18th to the 25st.

The Sacrificed Lamb

Our family takes a month or so before each Feast to study it through. It is important to take ALL Scripture(Old Testament, Prophets, Psalms, and New Testament) regarding Yeshua our Messiah into account when studying. When one verse or passage is taken out, to stand by itself, that is when strange doctrines occur. I pray you seek HIS WORD and always allow The Ruach HaKodesh(in English Holy Spirit) to lead your studies.
This is one of my favorite songs, I hope you like it. (the video is plain but the song is great!)

This passage of Scripture below is not related to the video, but I wanted to share it because it is important we don't forget Messiah in the Feasts.

Hbr 9:1 Now indeed even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service, and an earthly sanctuary.
2 For there was a tabernacle prepared. In the first part were the menorah, the table, and the show bread; which is called the Holy Place.
3 After the second veil was the tabernacle which is called the Holy of Holies,
4 having a golden altar of incense, and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which was a golden pot holding the manna, Aharon's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
5 and above it Keruvim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat, of which things we can't now speak in detail.

~In the Month of the Abib~

The month of abib(or aviv)is to be the first of the year to the children of Israel. As a believer in Yeshua, according to scripture, because I have been grafted in (CLICK HERE to read Scriptures pertaining to being grafted in) I am now a part of Israel. So everywhere I read something that pertains to Israel I know that it's talking to me. That is why I and my family have chosen to observe the Appointed Times, as laid out for us in Scripture.

So then what is abib?
According to Strong's~

h24 אביב 'abiyb

1) fresh, young barley ears, barley

2) month of ear-forming, of greening of crop, of growing green Abib, month of exodus and passover (March or April)

What does Scripture say about abib:
Exodus 12:2 This month [shall be] unto you the beginning of months: it [shall be] the first month of the year to you.(CLICK HERE to read in context)
Exodus 13:4 This day came ye out in the month Abib.(CLICK HERE to read in context)
Exodus 23:15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:) (CLICK HERE to read in context)
Exodus 34:18 The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt. (CLICK HERE to read in context)

Deut.16:1 Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto the LORD thy God: for in the month of Abib the LORD thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night. CLICK HERE to read in context)

So what does all of this mean?
Well my family and I believe that at sundown last night was the beginning of the "New Year" according to Scripture. How do we know? We can know this now days, because of technology that the abib barley was observed in Israel(actually searched for and found). Once it is found the next new moon observed in Israel, marks the first day of the month(which was last night). How do we know the new moon was observed(or sighted) in Israel? Again, because of technology, my family and I receive a report from Israel each month via e-mail saying it was sighted by many witnesses. Then we can go outside that evening and look for it ourselves, and sound the shofar(trumpet). Psalm 81:3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. So from today we now know to start counting down to the Spring Feast of YHVH: Pesach(Passover), Feast of Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, and Shavuot(Feast of Weeks). Remember at Yeshuas first coming HE fulfilled the Spring Feasts(1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out the old yeast, that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened. For indeed Messiah, our Pesach, has been sacrificed in our place), and at HIS second coming HE will fulfill the Fall Feast.

*NOTE: You will find that not everyone is in agreement with this way of doing things. There is much debate on when the moon is actually new(some will observe a black moon, others will observe the first sliver). Why so many opinions? Well, we know that Scripture has been interpreted in many different ways over the years, because of how many denominations there are. Each time someone disagrees with someone else on how to interpret scripture a new doctrine is born, sad but true! This has never really stopped, I think it has actually increased, people continue to divide YHVH word and come up with all sorts of divisions. It can become overwhelming and cause much confusion and discouragement. So then what is a person to do? Well the best thing we can ever do is~Seek YHVH and pray about everything that the Ruach Ha Kodesh(Hebrew for Holy Spirit) will lead you in all truth.
(John 16:13 However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.)

Scripture of course says it best~ 1Th 5:16-24 Rejoice always. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Messiah Yeshua toward you. 19 Don't quench the Spirit. 20 Don't despise prophesies. 21 Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil. 23 May the God of shalom himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. 24 Faithful is he who calls you, who will also do it.

While the kids are busy with their studies I have just a moment to share this section of Scripture. It is sooo short but says soooo much! As you read it, think about your walk with Yeshua, and ask yourself this question~are you more like Martha-busy, distracted, discontented, focused on others and what they are doing(or not doing) or like Miryam- Sitting at Yeshuas feet, hanging on His every word, with a strong desire to be taught by Him?

The meaning of this word is ~ h5459 סגלה cĕgullah

1) possession, property

a) valued property, peculiar treasure

Oh~"The Internet"! It is a great resource but it is also a place we can find too much confusion. There are so many out there hungering and thirsting for truth and righteousness, as a believer, I know that, the very last thing that I want to do is to confuse anyone seeking HIM! I want to be a light, not a stumbling block! I want to encourage others to read the word for themselves, find the answers to their questions in" THE WORD" not from a website or a blog.

We are definitely living in the age of information, a day and age where everyone has a blog or a facebook page. These places gives us a VOICE, and with that voice we can make good and bad choices. They are places to share our photo's, life stories, OPINIONS, beliefs, and doctrines freely! We like having the option to delete comments of people who disagree with us, and the bantering that goes back and forth, why? because we all think we are right, of course, but the truth is we can't all be right! Not to mention, that If we are not careful we can get consumed with how many friends and followers we have, blogging or chatting so much that we can be neglecting things around us.
What's wrong with this picture?

The more we learn in Scripture the more humbled we should become, but all to often it seems the opposite is happening. Well, with that being said, the Ruach HaKodesh(Holy Spirit) has been convicting me allot lately on the topic of what I blog about~is it Glorifying to HIM or is it just My opinion? Let's just say, HE has been humbling me, showing me things about myself that I don't like to look at. HE is reminding me constantly to love one another, and that I should keep my opinions to myself! If I were to do this, I would be showing people who HE is~"FOR HE IS LOVE"!(1Jo 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for El(God) is love.)

We are told over and over in Scripture to love one another and to love your neighbor
But do we remember what love is?
1Cr 13:4-8,13 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.
1Cr 13:13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Rom 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

The following Scriptures pose to me these Questions:
Where is the Unity?
Where is the Love?
We can't all be right, so what do we do?
Are we still a stiff-necked people?

Eph 4:1 I call upon you therefore, I the prisoner of the Master, to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called,
Eph 4:2 with all humility and meekness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
Eph 4:3 being eager to guard the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace –
Eph 4:4 one body and one Spirit, as you also were called in one expectation of your calling, Eph 4:5 one Master, one belief, one immersion, Eph 4:6 one Elohim and Father of all,1 who is above all, and through all, and in you all.( Footnote: 1Mk. 12:32,34, 1 Cor. 8:6, 1 Tim. 2:5, Mk. 12:29-34).
Eph 4:7 But to each one of us favour was given according to the measure of the gift of Messiah.
Eph 4:8 That is why it says, “When He went up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.”
Eph 4:9 But what does “He went up” mean, except that He also first went down into the lower parts of the earth?
Eph 4:10 He who went down is also the One who went up far above all the heavens, to fill all.
Eph 4:11 And He Himself gave some as emissaries, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as shepherds and teachers
Eph 4:12 for the perfecting of the set-apart ones, to the work of service to a building up of the body of the Messiah,
Eph 4:13 until we all come to the unity of the belief and of the knowledge of the Son of Elohim, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the completeness of Messiah,
Eph 4:14 so that we should no longer be children, tossed and borne about by every wind of teaching, by the trickery of men, in cleverness, unto the craftiness of leading astray,(1 Footnote: 15:6, also 2 Cor. 10:5, 2 Cor. 11:3-14, Gal. 1:6-9, 2 Tim. 3:1-8, 2 Tim. 4:2-4, 2 Peter 2:2-22, Jud. vv. 10-19).
Eph 4:15 but, maintaining the truth in love, we grow up in all respects into Him who is the head, Messiah,
Eph 4:16 from whom the entire body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the working by which each part does its share, causes growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.
Eph 4:17 So this I say, and witness in the Master, that you should no longer walk as the gentiles walk,1 in the futility of their mind, (Footnote: 11 Cor. 12:2, and Jer. 10:2.)
Eph 4:18 having been darkened in their understanding, having been estranged from the life of Elohim, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart,
Eph 4:19 who, having become callous, have given themselves up to indecency, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

Over the years our family has celebrated Purim in many different ways. This year we will not be dressing up in costumes like in years past, we will however be reading from the book of Esther and giving gifts to the poor. The book of Esther provides a "historical" event of Jewish deliverance and we believe it should be commemorated, but we are careful not to say that Elohim commanded the observance of Purim. ~The Fear of YHVH(The LORD) part 2

So, my last post was about fear~ it might have seamed out of place or bizarre to some, but I actually look at those verses and I take comfort in them, they make things clear to me.

Let me back up a little bit~ in the last seven or so years of my walk I have come to realize that I had a distorted view of who my Creator/Redeemer was. Why? Mostly because I relied solely on what I was taught, and no one ever emphasized that I should seek answers for myself. I didn't realize at the time, I was being taught doctrin, not Scripture. Actually, people tried to discourage me from seeking the Scriptures myself! Saying things like "you couldn't understand these things without going to seminary, or having a degree".

WHAT? That's not what Scripture says at all! In fact, it says seek first the Kingdom of Elohim~ not your pastor, or your friends! Scripture also says~2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto Elohim(God), a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth

Oh, and I probably over quote this verse, but it's so true~ 1Jo 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.

Most of what I remember hearing as a child and young adult, in church, was that The Elohim(God) of the Old Testament was Terrifying, and One to be Feared. The picture I had in my head of Him was not loving or merciful, but rather demanding and impossible to please, that He got angry allot and destroyed people! In contrast I was taught the Yeshua(Jesus) is loving, forgiving, and merciful, I don't recall the word fear ever being used in the same sentence as Yeshuas name.(So what does this mean? Did Yeshua and His disciples preach something contrary to the Old Testement? NO, they taught from it.)

Since seeking the answers out for myself, to the question~ is Elohim to be feared and Yeshua not to be feared? I have discovered that Yeshua says it best, so in His words, not mine~ Jhn 14:7 ¶ If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Yeshua is saying if you know Him you know the Father too! Jhn 10:30 I and [my] Father are one. and Jhn 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we [are]. Oh, I know this may seem like a no brainer to some, but to me this meant I had to change my perception of The Father, and how I perceived Him.

So, when it comes to Fear, is it an antiquated concept? Is it even talked about in the New Testement? Has fear left the building? Honestly, If there was a sermon on it, I must have missed that day! So here are some of the verses I found while seeking the truth out for myself.

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Luk 5:26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified Elohim(God), and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

Act 2:43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

Act 5:5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

Act 5:11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

Act 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of YHVH(the Lord), and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, were multiplied.

Act 13:16 Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with [his] hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear Elohim(God), give audience.

Act 19:17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of YHVH, Yeshua(the Lord Jesus) was magnified.

2Cr 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of Elohim(God).

2Cr 7:15 And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received Him.

Eph 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of Elohim(God).

Eph 6:5 Servants, be obedient to them that are [your] masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Messiah(Christ);

Phl 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

1Ti 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

1Pe 1:17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning [here] in fear:

1Pe 2:17 Honour all [men]. Love the brotherhood. Fear Elohim(God). Honour the king.

Rev 19:5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our Elohim(God), all ye his servants, and ye that fear Him, both small and great.

Is it just me? Or where there a bunch of people fearing back then? So what do you think, is fear still for today?
It is my observation and oppinion, that if more believers had a healthy fear of YHVH(The LORD) again, that our churches wouldn't be asleep, complacent, and conforming to the world.

I know that what I believed just a few years back, was something like the doctrine of "I can have my cake and eat it too", I just kept on sinning and justifying it. And the worst part was nobody said anything to me about my sin, what ever happened to admonishing on another?

The truth is HE is the same yesterday, today and forever! He hasn't changed , we have! He is coming back for a pure spotless bride, one who has made herself ready. And for everyone else HE will look allot like the angry Elohim of Old, coming to destroy again, this time for good!!! We dont get second chances, once He arrives!

I am grateful that I am no longer in the dark about Who YHVH is and what His expectations are of me. HE is LOVING and MERCIFUL, and he always has been! I have a very healthy fear of YHVH(The LORD) "now", but I never had it before I saught to know HIM for real. I hope that in these posts I am not coming across as self righteous and legalistic, or that I completely have it all figured out, because I don't. I really just want to share what I have discovered since opening up my Scriptures, and encourage you to do the same.

Some of you know that our famlily studies Ancient Hebrew. So, I thought it might be fun and informative to add the Ancient Hebrew definition for the word 'Elohiym', to give you a better understanding of the word most people substitute with the word God.

Ancient Hebrew Word Meanings

God ~ el/elo'ah

There are two Hebrew words commonly translated as God, el and elo'ah. When reading the Bible it is better to have an Ancient Hebrew perception of God rather than our modern western view. The word el was originally written with two pictographic letters, one being an ox head and the other a shepherd staff. The ox represented strength and the staff of the shepherd represented authority. First, the Ancient Hebrews saw God as the strong one of authority. The shepherd staff was also understood as a staff on the shoulders, a yoke. Secondly, the Ancient Hebrews saw God as the ox in the yoke. When plowing a field two oxen were placed in a yoke, one was the older and more experienced and the other the younger and less experienced and the younger would learn from the older. The Hebrews saw God as the older experienced ox and they as the younger who learns from him. The plural form of elo'ah is elohiym and is often translated as God. While English plurals only identify quantity, as in more than one, the Hebrew plural can identify quantity as well as quality. Something that is of great size or stature can be written in the plural form and in this case, God, as the great strength and authority is frequently written in the plural form elohiym. The two letters in these Hebrew words are the ox head representing strength and the shepherd staff representing authority. Combined they mean "the strong authority" as well as "the ox with a staff" (a yoke is understood as a staff on the shoulders).

~Feed My Sheep~

Below is a song by Keith Green, If you are not familiar with him, I pray you are blessed by his music and his passion for Yeshua(Jesus)! I grew up singing his songs as a very little girl, his lyrics are powerful! This song in particular speaks to me of how we should 'feel' as followers of Yeshua~ If we are truly to emulate HIM then, our hearts should ache and hurt for the lost too!

There is a line in this song that goes like this~ "HE brings people to your door, and you turn them away, as you smile and say, God bless you~be in Peace, and all heaven just weeps." After hearing those words, and the passion in which they are sung I realized that I want to have that kind of compassion. I want to be a tool in the hand of the Master, I don't want to miss any opportunity to serve HIM(YHVH)! If we desire to be used of HIM(YHVH) He will use us!

Over the years, YHVH has brought Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses to my door and I consider it a blessing! With every opportunity my prayer is the same~ I pray that I will be able to plant seeds of truth into their lives, and that the Ruach HaKodesh(Holy Spirit) would speak through me. Praying that the truth will sink deep into their hearts, and that they would continue to SEEK YHVH with all of thier hearts, soul and might, and FIND HIM!

For the past four weeks I have been meeting with some sweet Mormon Missionaries on my porch. Praying for them daily, my heart just hurts for their salvation, because Mormonism is such a deep deception~ there is so much truth mixed in with all of the fiction! Unless you have studied the REAL MA-COY "SCRIPTURE" it would be very difficult to pick up on some of the lies. (My advice KNOW WHAT SCRIPTURE SAYS, So that you will be able to identify the twists and turns and the manipulations of the enemy)

With that being said I have grown very fond of them, and will continue to pray for them and meet with them until they just stop coming. Interestingly enough every question I have asked them they cannot answer. I started wondering do they send these kids out without teaching them anything? BUT, I think it is that the questions I am asking are not the typical questions people ask! I have spent most of our meetings sharing with them the Hebrew roots of our faith, and they have been fascinated! In fact, at our meeting yesterday they spent two hours asking me questions! Please pray along with me for their salvation's, as I keep sharing the TRUTH of our Savior Yeshua with them!

I hope this song reminds you to never lose the passion for the lost! The mission field is so large, so many opportunities share love and hope, don't miss one!!!

~PRAY WITHOUT CEASING~PROVE ALL THINGS~

I took these pictures on my morning walk, and thought I would share them with you. Morning is my favorite time of day, it is my alone time with YHVH. It is also a time when I walk around my town praying and interceding for all of my family, friends, town, country, nation, leaders, pastors, Israel etc...........

I just love paths! They are constant reminders to me that there are two paths, one that leads to life and one that leads to death. These pictures reminded me of this passage in Scripture I have been studying, because of the changing of the seasons and the fall leaves on the ground! They make me think of what we are to be doing while we are waiting for our Messiah to return, and what season we are in.

(My comments to these Scriptures will be in parenthesis and in italics, also by clicking on highlighted words you can get there definitions. Keeping in mind I would much rather take these words back to the original Hebrew for better understanding, but I didn't because of time restrictions, but I suggest you do it yourself.)

1Th 5:1 Now, brothers, as to the times and the seasons, you do not need to be written to.(Do you know what times and seasons he is talking about here?)

1Th 5:2 For you yourselves know very well that the day of יהוה comes as a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then suddenly destruction comes upon them, as labour pains upon a pregnant woman, and they shall not escape.
1Th 5:4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.(Why? Because we are aware of YHVH times and seasons, HIS WAY'S~THE FEASTS! 1Th 5:8 But we who are of the day should be sober, putting on the breastplate of belief and love, and as a helmet the expectation of deliverance.
1Th 5:9 Because Elohim did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain deliverance through our Master יהושע Messiah,
1Th 5:10 who died for us, so that we, whether awake or asleep, should live together with Him. (I believe this is referring to those who are already dead, not literally asleep, but you study it out for yourself)
1Th 5:11 Therefore encourage one another, and build up one another, as indeed you do.(We need to be encouraging one another to stay on the straight and narrow path that leads to righteousness, to be a prepared bride to be!)
1Th 5:12 But brothers, we beg you to know those who labour among you, and are over you in the Master and admonish you,( admonish~Rom.15:14, 2 Thes. 3:15)
1Th 5:13 and to hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.
1Th 5:14 And we appeal to you, brothers, warn those who are disorderly, encourage the faint-hearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.(This is good stuff! Are we warning, encouraging, upholding and being patient with all?)
